CST safeguards its customer’s products and reduces operational costs through a variety of storage containment, material and coating options.

CST Complete Dry Bulk Storage Capabilities

CST’s silo, dome and vault manufacturing capabilities

CST Domes for Dry BulkCST is the world’s leading manufacturer of dry bulk silos and aluminum storage domes and vaults – All from one source.  So who knows better how to match our customer’s particular needs for the right solution than CST.  Whether it is our expertise in manufacturing tanks since 1893 and applying high-tech coatings to them since the 1920’s, or the precision manufactured, low maintenance aluminum used to manufacture our domes and vaults, CST can be trusted to give you a solution that will outlast the completion while providing the lowest life time costs.  But don’t take our word for it.  Ask one of our sales team members for the names of the owners and operators of some of our 350,000 tanks, domes and vaults located in over 120 countries.

120 Year Legacy of Silos, Domes and Vaults

Silos and Columbian TecTankCST’s BulkTec silo manufacturing dates back to its roots as Columbian Steel Tank Company, Peabody TecTank and Columbian TecTank, now CST Storage, and our dome and vault manufacturing founded by Temcor and Conservatek, now CST Covers.  Our storage solutions are custom engineered to our customer’s exact specifications, designed using state-of-the-art CAD and stress modeling tools, and then manufactured in one of our 6 ISO-Certified manufacturing facilities located in the US and Europe.  Our dedicated Project Management teams ensure a smooth purchasing, manufacturing and delivery process while providing a single point of contact throughout the engineering, manufacturing and construction processes.

Direct Flow Channel (DFC) Blending

Direct Flow Channel (DFC) blending combines the quality of CST silos with a proprietary design for gravity blending of material in the silo to minimize the effects of batch variables. Based on design parameters, analysis and field experience developed by CST’s engineers over the last four decades, we have developed a solution that will increase flow efficiencies, reduce cleanout costs and save our customers money.

Weaver Reclaimers

CST Weaver 500 Series CST now manufactures a complete line of Weaver Reclaimers including our 500 Series Center Drive, 600 Series Conical and 1000 Series Ring Drive Systems for use with our flat-bottom silos and domes.  Based on Richard Weaver’s long history of reclaimer designs, these units are now manufactured at CST’s 500,000 sq ft, ISO-Certified facility in DeKalb, IL.  Weaver Reclaimers feature all-electric drives, standard industrial components and Zero Entry maintenance designs.  All the units are now designed by a dedicated engineering team using 3D CAD and supported by CST’s dedicated global field service teams.

Component in Tank (CIT) Technology

CST Component in Tank (CIT) (1)

CIT has a dedicated team of engineers and technicians that work with tank customers to integrate customer-supplied equipment and technology at CST’s specially designed facility before the tank is shipped to the field. The result of our CIT capabilities is that our customer’s integration costs are significantly reduced because systems are easier and more cost-effectively to test and debug at the factory in environmentally controlled spaces.

Site construction time is also decreased because the tank arrives ready to be hooked up and operated. An additional benefit of CIT is the constancy of product and process that can be achieved nationally and globally by shipping the exact same system to every location. While primarily performed on welded tanks, some integration of components on bolted tanks, particularly on the hoppers, can also be accomplished. Pre-integrated components may include pumps, level indicators, bin vents, lights, heaters, material handling valves, aerations system and control panels.

Integrated Loading Platforms and Accessories

But CST’s  ability to satisfy our customer’s needs, improve construction times and save them money doesn’t stop with providing just silos, domes or vaults. We can design and manufacture silos for drive-through and train-through operation as well as integrate accessories such as walkways, level indicators, load cells units.  Our partners are also capable of providing a variety of material handling solutions for loading and unloading all of our storage solutions.

FIFO and LIFO Designs

CST can manufacture silos with standard hopper slopes for either first-in-first-out (FIFO) or last-in-last-out (LIFO) flow.  Our engineering teams can also custom design silos and hoppers to meet customer’s specific flow characteristic needs.
