06/24/2015 – Salina, KS – On Wednesday, June 24th, CST Storage celebrated the grand opening for Kansas State University Bulk Solids Innovation Center the 600 block of North Front Street in Salina, Kansas. CST contributed to the state-of- the- art facility by donating a welded carbon steel tank to the Center. The university-level research facility is the only one of its kind in North America.

CST Storage is proud to have partnered with K-State by donating the 60’ x 10’ welded carbon steel tank to the Center. The donated tank has an estimated working capacity of 3,420 cubic feet and meets standard design criteria—including load and pressure capacity and weight and discharge specifications.

The Open House was attended by numerous local officials, Kansas State University officials, and various industry companies that donated $2.5 million in equipment to make the center a reality. The Bulk Solids Innovation Center is a two-story 13,000-sq-ft building that is expected to contribute to education in the bulk solids field as well as generate sponsored research within the bulk solids field.

The Kansas State University Bulk Solids Innovation Center will be a valued resource to companies that design and utilize systems for bulk solids.
