The Zoological Industry has always been a great application for CST’s unique enclosures. The dome at the St. Louis Zoo houses CST’s smallest clients to date – insects. The 60-foot dome with bubbled acrylic panels, called Crystagon Skylights, creates a controlled environment for insects of all types, including butterflies.

This is our second enclosure that houses butterflies; the first was an 85-foot diameter dome at the Parque Aqua Azul in Guadalajara, Mexico. St. Louis Zoo’s dome has 48 hubs, 126 struts, 14 anchors and 81 panels. This dome structure has a surface area of 4,084 square feet.
