The Conservatek Team’s first project with a job number was number 1,000, supplied to Woods Hole Oceanographic which was installed in May of 1972. The project was a total of $6,185.00 for two 30′ diameter Star*Dome – 3 frequency domes.

The aluminum dome framework supported a clean vinyl membrane suspended beneath the framework on liner washers. The domes were used in botanical research at Woods Hole to create a warm environment with lots of sunlight during the cold winters on Cape Cod.

Wendel, the President of Conservatek is standing on the hub over the doorway to show how strong this lightweight structure was. The package came with vents, fans and heaters. The Chemotaxis staff are attempting to learn something of the behavior patterns of marine animals with emphasis on chemical communication.
