The STAR*BAY 3 development was the result of the ongoing joint venture of the Shimizu Construction, Ltd., Tokyo, Japan, the world’s largest contractor, and the Conservatek R & D Team.

The objective in our plans for space and lunar construction – the new field called “Astrotectonics” is to have a lightweight, easy to assemble systems both by astronauts as well as robots. Wendel has 47 hours of astronaut assembly training underwater.

The system has a dual liner action, i.e., the end of the end of the strut expands inside the hole in the hollow hub. The hollow hub is just one of the new technological developments possible with the latest fabrication technology.
