Municipal Wastewater
Glass-fused-to-steel Aquastore tanks are the preferred choice of municipal engineers and operators everywhere.
Focus on Municipal Wastewater
Like many rural and urban water operations, the municipal wastewater market is quickly learning about the long term cost savings associated with Aquastore glass-fused-to steel and HydroTec Epoxy coated wastewater tanks.
While generally not used as a below-ground tank, CST tanks are often specified due to their durability over below-ground options, and when below-ground tanks are not a practicable option due to the soil conditions at the wastewater treatment site.
State and Federal EPS requirements are getting stricter which in turn is increasing the standard being applied to wastewater containment requirements. Concrete tanks that by the nature of their curing process often crack and sometimes leak. This leaking potential is coming under scrutiny for the effects of the associated potential wastewater seepage into the ground water.
In addition, building underground concrete tanks often hides the leaking problem from discovery and correction. Remedying leaking below-ground tanks is often by the costly process of periodically taking the tank out of service, removing the old coating and recoating the tank.
